    The friendship between Jim and Antonia in "My Antonia" is similar with the relation ship with Gina and Soo-Hyung in "Once around Manhattan".       

      In 'My Antonia" The characters Jim and Antonia have a good friendship. Antonia works for Jim's grandmother helping her in the farm. Jim and Antonia hang out together alot. Their friendship is easy because Antonia is only going to be with them for the summer. They go and gather early vegtables for dinner and sit on the chicken-house together, looking at the clouds. Antonia tells jim things like how she doesnt care that working outside makes he look like a man. And that shows she not afraid to tell jim anything

         In the "Once around Manhatten" Gina and Soo-Hyung are in a challenge club and the only two girls there. They have to Canoe around manhatten. Gina and Soo-Hyung are the same age , But they dont always agree with each other but they put that behind them.  Gina see's a bridge that her grandmother use to play on when she was 7 years old, and all though that could put them behind Soo-Hyung lets Gina get off the boat to go up to the bridge and rember the memorys she had playing on the bridge to.  But they got sepreated from the boys and Soo-Hyung didnt get mad at her for making them behind. They just worked hard to catch up with the group. Then when they get to the statue of liberty they wanna give her a name because if it wasnt for statue of liberty they wouldnt have worked this hard together,Said Soo-Hyung. Gina said she would name it Gina and Soo-Hyung rolled her eyes but then Gina said ooh no we will name it "Soo-Hyung steering us to solid ground".And that represents that Gina is a loyal friend and she is happy that Soo-Hyung was there with her.

The friendships are simialr in "My Antonia" and "Once around Manhatten" Because they dont really need to comunicate they kind of know what the other person is thinking in the head. And that shows that they know eachother good and they are really good friends.

The  friendship between Jim and Antonia in My Antonia is similar to the friendship between Gina and Soo-Hyung "Once Around Manhattan." Even though Jim and Antonia live in the farm in the nineteenth century and Gina and Soo-Hyung are living in the city, their friendship is very similar.

Jim and Antonia know eachother. They always go places together. Each morning they would go together to the garden to get early vegetables for dinner. Jim knew alot about Antonia. He knew that she didn't like wearing the bonnet grandmother always made her wear. He knew that everyone liked her in the house. They shared many moments with eachother like when they climbed to the roof to watch the clouds.

Gina and Soo-Hyung know eachother too. They are both very athletic. They were alike to eachother because when they were looking at the sites they didn't even have to say anything to eachother because they already knew they liked the sites. Gina knew things about Soo-Hyung and remembered them. When they were in front of the Yankee statuim, Gina wanted to watch them play but she already knew Soo-Hyung didn't like the Yankees. Gina knew Soo-Hyung liked the Mets.

Jim and Antonia's friendship is very cheerful and working. They share many likes and hang out alot. So does Gina and Soo-Hyung. The two pairs of friends share a past with eachother. Jim knows that Antonia isn's always as she is being her nice self. Gina recognized a landmark where her and Soo-Hyung used to play on. Gina and Soo-Hyung are different when they are alone with eachother and so are Jim and Antonia. Gina and Soo-hyung act blank or normal when Mr. Kravitz was there. After they started to get near the Statue of Liberty, they were telling eachother about their crazy ambitions. They were honest with themselves. So were Jim and Antonia. When they were alone, Jim knew and asked Antonia why she isn't always as nice.

They're friendships are very similar. Even though they come from different perspectives, they share the same friendships.

The friendship between Jim and Antonia in My Antonia are different from the friendship between Gina and Soo-Hyung in “Once around Manhattan.” They are similar because they both are good friends and support each other. Jim and Antonia’s friendship are about two families’ in the 19th century living in Nebraska. The Shimerdas are a family that lives next to the Burdens. They are Bohemian immigrants. Mr. Shimerdas dies and his oldest daughter goes to work on the Burdens’ farm. They see each other often and go walking by the garden. They are always together and she loves to sing. Their friendship is similar because they both are there for each other and have confidence for each other. A true friend isn’t someone you know the longest but who stayed by your side and never left your side. Antonia works for Jims family on a farm. Jim and Antonia always have to work together. They are working on a farm and they need to work together. The play together and they are really each others only friends. Gina and Soo-Hyung depend on each other to make themselves look good. They also are the only two girls in a group of boys. They go to the same school and they met through the Challenge club.

  The friendship between Antonia and Jim in My Antonia is very different compared to other friendships because Antonia works for the family and Jim is the child. They stay together outside and they talk. There friendship is a strong one and Jim loves having Anbtonia in the house. Antonia tells Jim what she likes to do like staying outside not caring if it makes her look like a man. She used to say "Oh, better I like to work out-of-doors than in a house!" she used to sing joyfully. "I not care that that your grandmother say it makes me look like a man." There she is telling Jim what she thinks and what she wouldn't say to the grandmother. The relationship between them is really good and I think they are great friends.

The friendship in "Once Around Manhattan"  between Gina and Soo-Hyung is a little different because they are the same age. They are going on a boat ride around Manhattan and they go threw a lot on that boat ride. Gina sees a bridge that she used to play on when she was small and Soo-Hyung knows what she means by her good memories so she lets her go to the bridge for a while. They end up getting separated from there group and when they get to the teacher they figure out that they have to go over a bunch of waves. This is something that tells you they are really good friends :Soo-Hyung?" says Gina. "Yeah?"  " Does she have a name? The Statue of Liberty lady?Because if it weren't for her..." "I know. I'm goingto have to call Gina," said Soo-Hyung, rolling her eyes, " because she was my only hope back there." "Oh,no," said Gina, " her name is Soo-Hyung, steering us to solid ground."  This represents there friendship. They are saying without eachother we wouldnt have got threw any of this.

  The friendships in the story "My Antonia" and "Once Around Manhattan." are similar in ways. They both love telling eachother stuff and aslo understand eachothers feelings. They say the wouldn't get threw things without eachother. They like eachother and respect eachotherr for who they are.

Question : Economic differences between friends cause problems,People from different economic backgrounds can not be friends.

Answer : I don't think that because if you have more money another person doesn't make you more special or anything. I think kids can be friend with people that have more money then them or less. Because if your friends with some one who only cares if you have a lot of money you know that there not a true friend. What matters is whats on the inside not the outside. Money is not the issue. Its weather your a good person or not.

I disagree with that because people can be friends no matter what color or background they are. I don't believe it is true because I have friends from different backgrounds and it doesnt really make a difference to me. We are all people no matter what color or backgound we are. I don't see anybody any different because of there background or race. Everyone is the same to me. I still talk to them the same and act the same in front of them no matter what race or background. Thats all I have to say and for those of you who agree I hope I changed your mind.
