LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor of the pole about what most people like to do on weekends.

The pole was not done as nicely as it could have been.  Most of the people you poled were from a movie theater.  So this is what I think is wrong about the pole and how to fix them.

THE THINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED IN THE POLE

There are many things that could have been fixed in this pole.  Most of the voters picked the movies because you took peoples choices at a movie theater.  You did not pole enough people.(Only 57 people were poled)  Your strategies for poling people were bad.(Only chose people in the theater)  You tried to facilitate the situation by only choosing the people in the movie theater but instead you got your facts all wrong.  If you were vigilant enough you would have picked up on these mistakes but instead with this pole you are counterproductive.

HOW TO FIX THE MISTAKES THAT YOU MADE IN THE POLE

All of the things above could have been resolved.  To get a better variety of votes you have to maybe pole people in multiple locations.  Like you can pole people at the movies, the mall, the park, and the local theme park.(These are only some examples)  You also have to pole more people so your votes can be a lot more accurate.(So instead of 57 votes you may get 5,700 votes)  Make sure you pole multiple locations.  Also let the pole carry on over a few months or weeks so you know your results are accurate and "correct".  These tips are vital to your success

 

If you follow these rules and/or guidelines your pole would be more accurate and we can see the results.  Hopefully you will take my advice and go redo the poll.  But anyway the choice of your poll was very nice.

Complaint to the companies

I am complaing to these companies: Burger King, Trix yogurt, Yumsshoes. So one day I was just finished from church, I was really hugery so I suggested we go to Burger King(We, as in My mom,sister , Dad and me)I was young at the time, so I ordered a kids meal, and as they say when you order a kids meal, you get a free toy inside, so I was expecting a toy. When I open it I saw to my suprise that there was no toy, I started to cry, my mom just told my to suck it up and keep my mouth shut, i was really mad, so that's one of my complanits. The other one is about a Trix contest.You know those contest that say that thier 20 thousand dollars up for grabs, if you saw the "you won!" sign on it. So me and my Dad were at ShopRite and I aked him if we could but the trix yogurt, he didn't want to but i convinced him. When  got home I started eating and eating and eating until got to the last one, I felt like I was gonna blow up. Then I  slowly opened the lid and it said "You won" I was jumping around holding my stomac because Ididn't want to see my gut on the floor, so I called them up and they said they would deliver the money to my house, a year passes by and I didn't get my money, I wanted to sue but  my dad said it costs a lot of money to hire a lawyer so that was a bust. The last complaint is that resently I got shoes called Yums online, they said that with the purshaes you get a free miixtape,so it get there i open the box but on mixtape, but I was happy that I got the shoes I wanted so i really didn't care.

          My future career is being a doctor. It requires a lot of hard and many years of school. That means that not just anyone can be a doctor. If you slack off and don't focus on your work, you shouldn't even think of trying to become a doctor. It's just hopeless and a waste of time.

          The are many rewarding things about being a doctor. One of them is the amount of money. The quantity of that reward depends on the type of doctor you become.(Anesthesiology:$306,964,Surgery/general:$255,438 ,Obstetrics/gynecology: $233,061 ,Psychiatry: $163,144 ,Internal medicine: $155,530,Pediatrics/adolescent medicine: $152,690, Family practice: (without obstetrics) $150,267). There are also other rewards like being able to save other peoples' lives. Just think of saving at least one person's life in a week or in a month. Even if you don't save someone's life, just being able to heal people's wounds and help them when the y are sick is a whole reward of its own. It gives most people great happiness to know that they have the power to help other people just by doing their job and earn money while doing it.

          To become a doctor you gave to go through one year of Biology with lab, one year of Inorganic Chemistry with lab, one year of Organic Chemistry with lab , and one year of English. Many schools require one year of calculus or college level math. Some medical schools request a course in Biochemistry. To get in most medical schools you need a grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0. So anyone that tries to become any type of doctor, has to study very hard and not waist time doing unnecessary things. That does not mean that you should not have any time for fun. You need to find a good wake to balance it and find time to hang out with your friends.

Tutu the amazing....Artist

When I was young my mom always told me that I had a talent for drawing stuff like: Batman(witch by the way is my favorite super hero) Superman and other cartoon, because I used to watch them as a kid.As a kid growing up was a joy with cartoon,I mean I still watch them though, Anyway I used to watch shows like Scobby Doo- Where are you , Sponge bob Square pants and a whole list of other things. I'd watch and watch and watch,until I came to the point where I wondered how people make cartoons, because they weren't real people(that's what my mom told me) So i when to go ask my mom, she said that they are trained artist that make them, so I wanted to try it out. I took  me a piece of  paper, pencil and a eraser to rub out my mistakes. I tried to make a circle,And boy did it stink!. I ended up crying and I went to moom, she told me that it's normal to stink if you're a beginner, because you have'nt learned any thing about it at all. She also said that I need lessons cause she saw the way i was trying to get better at drawing, so the next day, mom dropped me of at pre-school and she said I should ask the teacher if she had any dawning lesson and turns out she did, so i went there for a month or so and my art got better. my mom was impressed with my work that she bougth me a kit to draw with. I still have it till this day, but it's kinda getting old.So that's who inspired me to become an artist: my mom, cartoons, and.... Oh of course you to Ms. Hill , don't worry I'll probably mention you in one of my interviews as for now I am your student.

Career

The career I want is to be a accountant.  I want to be an accountant because they get good pay and I love numbers.  Accountants need to be good at math because they need to work with numbers.  I also want to do my own taxes and not have all on someone other than myself.  It will take at least 4 years of college.  You need to give full attention to what people say and the stuff they give you.(Tax information etc.)  Accountants need to be able to understand work related documents.  Accountants need to analyze financial info and maintain assets, liabilities, profit or loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. 

Being an accountant is very hard because you have deadlines for everything.  There is also a time of year when accountants have to work even more.  They call it tax season because that's when they do all of their taxes.  Accountants have to work countless hours on their work to make sure it is correct or they can get their accounting license taken away by the state by messing up someone's tax return.

If I were an accountant I would work for my own company.  I would do taxes for a lot of people I Know.  In accounting school I would meet new people to see if they wanted to work in the company.(If they said yes I would be a CO-OWENER)

I would want to run my own company for accounting because you can get more money that way and you can meet new people.  The bad things are that I would have to work harder until my business starts to catch on and my business may never catch on.  If my business never catches on I could always go solo or join another company and work for them. 

Someone "ABOVE THE LAW"

"Above the law" means a person who can do something wrong and get away with it without getting into trouble.  I think Adolf Hitler is above the law because he killed Jewish people for no reason.

EARLY LIFE

Adolf  Hitler was born on April 20^th 1889 in a small Austrian town named Braunau near the German border.  Hitler’s parents were poor.  Alois Hitler and Klara Hitler were Adolf’s parents.  Alois was fifty-one when Adolf was born.  In the beginning, Hitler was very good at school.  It appeared he had a bright academic future in front of him.  He was admired for his leadership qualities.  Later, he had more competition in secondary school.  As he started to have trouble, he lost his popularity with his fellow pupils.  They were no longer willing to accept him as one of their leaders.

 The only teacher Hitler appeared to like was Leopold Potsch, his history master.  Potsch told Hitler and his fellow pupils of the German victories over France in 1871 and attacked the Austrians for not being involved in these triumphs.  Hitler’s other main interest in school was art. 

The relationship between him and his father deteriorated, and ended with the death of Alois Hitler in 1903.  Hitler was thirteen when his father died. 

THE GERMAN ECONOMY 

The German economy continued to improve as unemployment fell.  Before the economic crash, 1.25 million people were unemployed.  In the general election that took place in September 1930, the Nazi party increased its number of members in parliament from 14 to 107.  Hitler was now the leader of the second largest party in Germany. 

HITLER BECOMES DICTATOR

When Hitler became dictator of Germany he became very cruel.  He thought the Jewish people were evil.  He sent them to concentration camps.    They were given a gold Star of David that made them stand out so the nazi's could reconize them.  In the concentration camps the Jews were treated horribly.

Adolf Hitler is “above the law” because what he did to all the Jews.  He made up lies that made the Germans believe Jews were evil.  But in the long run he killed himself.  That’s why I think Adolf Hitler is "above the law".

Teck decks

A Tech deck is a toy like stake board( I would'nt call it a toy though). It's about 96mm. A Teck deck is really fun and addicting once you start learning how to do tricks on it. A tech deck is like a real skateboard because it has real  griptape, screws and bottom graphics.That's basicly the cool thing about Teck decks: the bottom graphics. the bottom graphics are from skating companies like Bbirdhouse, Alienworkshop, Toymachine,Worldindestries, blind,Xgames, Plan b etc. the trick are hard at first, but then they get easier with alot of practice. Who ever is reading this is luck cause i would have to charge you guys for these TIPS: to do an Ollie put one finger on the Tech deck and anotherone on the end of the board, then quickly slide the board back and flick it. It should go up  in the air. If it does'nt work then try it again until it works.The other trick is called the kick flip. It might be easy in video games, but it 's kind of hard in real life. You have to put your fingers on the middle edge and flick back so it flips. You could also just make up your own trick so people think your good, but don't relie on it for long because people would ask to challenge you for cash and if you lose, you lose that hard earned cash man! The only bad thing about tech decks, it trading like one time I was in fourth period right and I traded with his guy ( cause you normal don't even ask where they got it) no names mentioned, so I was playing with it at lunch then one of my friends sees it and guess what, turns out it was his, the guy i traded with stole from the other guy so I gave it up and I ended up with nothing, so I've learn my lesson : ALWAYS ASK FIRST.

Nets vs Knicks (March 8, 2009)

On Sunday March 8 the New Jersey Nets played against the New York Knicks at the Izod center.  I went the game with my church basketball team and bought over 40 tickets.  We were allowed to go court side for pre-game practice.  We saw the Nets and Knicks practice with their team's trainers.  My church sat on the side of the court were the Nets were practicing and we saw  Devin Harris, Sean Williams, and Vince Carter.  There were other players that I saw but I don't remember their names.  On the other side of the court the Knicks were practicing.  The Knick players that I saw were David Lee and Nate Robinson.  I almost got an autograph from some of the players but as soon as I was about to get an autograph the members of the team went to the locker room.  After a while a bad pass came to me and I got the ball and gave it back.  1 hour and 20 minutes before the game started we had to go to our seats.  Our seats were on the top level and we were on the 18th row.  20 minutes before the game started we were at our seats and had a lot of food.

When the game started the Nets got the ball off the tip and drove down the court.  While this was happening I was eating a hot dog.  On the first drive of the game the Nets did not score.  The Knicks got the ball and scored to take the lead.  The game was very close and the Nets and Knicks were trading the lead back and forth.  At the end of the 1st quarter the Knicks were winning.  In between the quarters we had another snack.  I had another hot dog.  During the second quarter the Knicks held there lead.(Even though the Net player Devon Harris scored a lot of points).  That day was Chinese culture night so a Chinese "Opera" came and did a song at half time.  Trust me you did not want to hear it.  But that's just my opinion.  After the "Opera" the Nets dancer came out and danced. 

At the start of the second half the Knicks were winning.  The Knicks were Known to do bad in the 3rd quarter and lost their 10 point lead but were still winning.  The 3rd quarter ended and it looked like the Knicks would keep there lead.  During the 4th quarter Vince Carter got injured and it looked like he was not coming back into the game.  But Vince got back in the game as fast as he could.  Once he came back in he stole the ball and went on a fastbreak and scored to put the Nets into the lead.  The Nets and the Knicks kept the game close but with around 4 minutes left in the game the Nets kicked up there game.  Devon Harris put the game away when he made 2 foul shots to put the Nets ahead by 5 points with 30 seconds left.  The Knicks tried to come back but the game ended with the final score of 106 Nets 102 Knicks.

Teck decks

          Teck decks are miniature skate boards that you can do tricks with on your finger. People can do almost any skate board trick ever created on a normal skate board with a teck deck. You can do tricks like an ollie, a nollie, a 360, a kick flip, or an impossible. I think my favorite tricks are the 360 and the impossible because they are challenging and they look cool. You can also do flips and grinds. One thing I like about teck decks is that they have nice designs on the bottoms but the tops all look the same. I'm getting better at using them. Anyone that can control them has skill because not just anyone can use it. You have to have very nice finger reflexes trick the tricks because you have an instant to do the tricks or the whole thing is messed up. I think the hardest part of the teck deck is finishing the landing because you have to get your hand at a good position on the board before it lands. Moving it around isn't that hard though because you just have to put your hand on it and push it back. The jumps are more advanced.

          I am aiming to become a pro and master every trick possible. You can also buy a skate park made for teck decks. It is a smaller version of a normal skate park but it is just made to fit the size of the teck decks. It's just like having a skate park and skateboarders in you house. It seems like a hard goal but I think I can do it. When I am finally done, I will be so proud of myself. I want to try to do it by this year. It will be one of my major accomplishments.
