Boreddd on a summerr dayy

So today, I finally get back from my second trip to Florida. I know your thinking in your head second trip. well all I can say is sometimes it is good to have divorced parents. So all I have to do is unpack all my things and get ready for school. Blah! I'm kinda happy to go back to school but only for the 1s few days ,just to see all my friends. That is it. I'm really bored right now this is why I am typing this blog. No one is on aim for me to talk to. it is really annoying. Well i guess ill go and clean my room. lol l8ter.

YoGa WiTh ShAnNoN! ;D

     

   Last Friday, my friend Shannon and I were at my house. We both knew that we were there to take yoga! How you ask? Well, my sister's friend's mother is a yoga obsessive! Not in a bad way of course! You can NEVER get TOO obsessed with things that are good for you! Did you know that studies have shown that people who take yoga generally live longer?!?

    One day, my mom was talking to Lauri, for that was her name, and was saying how all my friends and I do at home is go outside, play on the computer, go on facebook and aim, and watch TV. Lauri brightly suggested yoga. When my mother was talking to me about it, I thought that was one of the best ideas. I suggested it to Shannon, my soon to be yoga buddy at the time, and she agreed with me. Our moms were talking about the structure of the agenda to take yoga. They decided with Lauri that Fridays were perfect! Probably because of the reason that everyone is lazy and free on Fridays! T.G.I.F!

    So, back to where we started! Shannon got on the bus with me, got off at my stop, and we walked home. We stayed at my house alone for a while, and then my mom came home. My mom explained to us how the day was going to go. She said that she was going to pick up Liza, my sister, at her school and was going to stay there for a while, and then was going to come home. Soon after, Lauri was to come to the house and start our yoga lessons! Shannon and I were so excited to try something new! About and hour passed and Lauri arrived. Then we got down to business! Lauri told us to change into yoga pants (duh) and something more comfy and stretchy. We came downstairs in the proper outfits as required. Lauri had set up a yoga lounge with the yoga mats and the calming music in my living room. She instructed us to sit down on the yoga mats with our legs in "criss-cross position" and put our palms face-up on our knees. She told us how to do poses and relax our muscles. She explained to us about how you have to evenly stretch out muscles and that yoga is about balance, centering, and focusing about breathing. For example about the stretching, muscles work in pairs; therefore, if you stretch one muscle you have to stretch the other one to BALANCE it out. After we tried a new pose she would tell us what it meant in "yoga language". Shannon and I could not sit still! Every time she told us to look to our left or in a certain direction, and Shannon and I made eye contact, we both cracked up. Of course Lauri is easy going and understands it was our first time doing yoga, she didn't care much. If we were at a more professional yoga place, they would definitely have cared! Yoga is not an activity to joke around, but what do we know, we're thirteen. The lesson went on for about an hour and a half. After the lesson, Shannon and I were completely exhausted! Who knew yoga and stretching took THAT much work!? Shannon and I found peace and were both centered when we did it though. It was a lot of

Decrease Homework!

     I think kids shouldn't have to do homework, or the amount of homework should be limited. I think that doing this will facilitate our lives.

    Since basically every kid in the world spends about seven hours in school for five days a week, doing work for about six of those hours, I think homework should be decreased. Most kids don't enjoy school but they have to go through the day anyways, they shouldn't have to have more work after school, when they finally get to go home, relax, breathe and sleep. Us kid's/teenagers also like to hang out with our family and friends sometimes, and homework gets in the way of it. I know we're supposed to be paying attention to our work, but having friends and communicating with your friends and family is also important.

    Homework is also complicated sometimes, because if you have a question, you can't just ask it because you would have to send an email and some teachers take forever to reply to them, then you have no idea what to do for the homework, and you end up going to school with no homework done, because your teacher didn't answer your email in time, then you also end up with a zero for the homework. Specifically what I think they should do is make strategies before they give out the homework, because if you don't get far enough with the work during class, kid's aren't going to be able to do it, so you'll need another strategy. I think that America should have an election and everyone will be electorate. We would all have a week where every state and school in the USA will vote if homework should be eliminated or decreased. I'm sure everybody would say yes for it being eliminated, but it would also make history.

    I really do hope that one day homework won't be contemporary anymore, because I can't stand it, it makes everything so much harder, and sometimes I'd like to have a break from work. I'm sure teacher's dislike giving homework too, but their lucky they don't actually have to waste their time doing it. I never liked doing homework and I bet the teachers never liked doing it either. I also bet that the school board, principals, the president, all the famous people, never liked doing homework either. I would like to entice this matter, because I know for sure, every one of my friends would agree with this.

    If I would ever become president, I would think about this day and I how brutal homework can be, I would think very deeply about it, and try and make some changes with the problems kids have with homework. But I doubt I'd ever become president, and I doubt this problem will ever be solved, but maybe some day in the future, somebody will really think about how much time homework can take up, when basically it's just a review or the same exact thing we have done in school that day already.

No more Rules!

    There is a rule, and I disagree with this rule, very much. This rule is that we can't chew gum in class! I know that some people have really good reasons for not to chew gum in class, such as people sticking it in other peoples hair, and it being a distraction, and getting it all over the place. I also have some very good reasons on why we should be allowed to chew gum.

    For some kids, and grown ups, gum is vital to us. People may think that it is not necessary or it makes a mess, but for many people, it keeps us calm and relaxed. For exmaple when we are takeing a test, or writing an essay, gum will make us feel more confindent, and I am pretty sure that when not chewing gum is taken off of the list of rules, a lot of more kids will do a lot better on tests, and assignments. I have an animosity when teacher yell and scream and give detention for chewing gum, and I know that it's a rule, but come on, give us a break, half of the teachers chew gum in class anyway. All students, should be entitled to chew gum, and it will benefit the kids, becasue they will feel more calm and relaxed, and it will also benefit the teachers, because all of the kids will be doing better. Yes, gum may be a distraction, but  that should be up to the teachers, I dont believe that it should be a rule. Teachers always complain about kids chewing gum, but I'm pretty sfure that when they were a kid, they were craving gum between classes as well. Another thing that I think would make a big difference, is consintration. Kids always lose focuse, because they are always thinking about how much they want gum. Somday, I will think of a strategy, to let schools and teacher, allow kids to chew gum in class!! I am counterproductive on this.!!

You must be 18 years or older to call>!

    When you are sitting on your couch watching the new episode of Spongebob and it goes on commercial.  Benda what Benda who bendro!! As your are watching the commercial you are thinking "Ohh that looks neat ,I want that" Then it hits you YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO CALL, PLEASE HAVE CREDIT CARD READY.Why must you be 18 years or older to call?

    The commercials should not say you must be 18 years or older, please have a credit card ready.What if you are 17 and your birthday is tomorrow. Now you cannot call. Or , what if you don't have a credit card and you live straight on cash. Even for kids you might save your money up to get your mom benadros or something but then you cant get it because you have to be 18!  Although using a credit card might make everything facilitating, it increases the risk of identity theft. Almost every commercial is like this. You must be blah blah blah,theoretically speaking if you were 15 and you really wanted a sham wow, but you got your credit card, Could you be able to buy it?

Usually they have a specific credit card that they want, such as master card, American Express,Visa, what if you just came to the country and all you have is a foreign credit card. What would you do? Steel it. [[steeling is bad]]

    You can tell that the companies who make the products, and are asking for you to be 18 years or old have beneficiaries these beneficiaries use strategies to attract young minds to want to buy their product. Now a days everyone is updating with the newest gadgets.We have to stand up for ourselves, we must be counterproductive to the 18 years or older law.  This is a infraction! Companies need to expand, maybe money orders, checks, not just credit cards.

    You can stop this. Stop ordering the will hopefully drop. Go to "As Seen On Televison store". Now you will bee saying wow for your now sham wow.

Wrongs

In our world, there are issues that need to be fixed such as our over-spending economy. I feel that the issues that our nation is facing have put us in a bedlam state. I honestly feel that our government misconstrues what our nation needs (health care, jobs, shelter), and therefore makes foolish decisions, and puts us in a massive debt. As a young person in the world, all of these concepts seem pretty strange, and are very unfamiliar to my mind. All I know is that if our whole country goes down the toilet, I hope that there is somebody who will actually have strategies to help us overcome this bad time. Our nation is surviving on nothing, and is still spending money while in debt. That sounds pretty counterproductive to me. I just hope that when I am old enough to make a change in our world, that there wail be better people to handle the situations.

Another thing that I have a strong opinion about is announcements. They go on in the beginning of 7th period, and take up so much class time that the only time left is used to sigh after they are done. I really would rather have the announcements in the very, very beginning of the day, so that nobody gets a large chunk of class time taken away from them. If an assignment if being explained to you very briefly, and then announcements come on, chances are that you will not get a full understanding of your requirements for that assignment. I think that when they make the same announcements every day, everyone tunes out after the first time they are made, so there really is no point in repeating them over and over again.

As you may very well see, I have a strong opinion on things that I think need to be adjusted.

Philip Malloy

    Personally, my opinion about Philip in Miss Narwin's class is that he is bored. It states in the book that Philip cracks jokes, does not do his work, and doesn’t pay attention. In my perspective, it seems that he is bored. Phil may not get the concept that continuing what he does in her class is counterproductive and being active, not passive, in her class is vital to getting good grades.

Because there are diary entries in the book, there is a way to see his perspective. He says that he does not like the teacher and thinks the work is stupid and boring. Phil feels deep animosity towards Miss Narwin. I understand that Philip is entitled to his feelings, but he can’t hate a teacher because he doesn’t like her work and the teacher in general. Teachers have a higher authority than students and they will help you get to where you want to be in the future. It is almost natural for teachers, students and parents to be concerned with grades. Good grades in middle school get you to high school, good grades in high school get you into college, and college gets you degrees so you can get the job you want. Phil says that he likes to run and dreams of being in the Olympics. Being an athlete is a job, and if he did not get through the patch with Miss Narwin and failed, it is possible that it could have affected him greatly in the future. One of the school rules is if a student is failing a class, he or she is not able to pursue playing on a sports team. I think that Phil does not see the logic of if he does better in Miss Narwin and has respect for her, he can join the track teem.

My dream job!

When I grow up, I would like to become an interior designer. Personally, I think the job came to me naturally. When I was a little girl I always loved making houses for dolls, and such, and experimenting with colors. I find myself a very artistic person and I have a passion for designing.

        If I chose to work in NY as an interior designer, I would make an average amount of $65,000 a year. I would have to have a degree in art or design-based higher education course, a bachelor’s degree, and/or a degree in interior design. Obviously, I would have to go to college. Some schools in NY that I could go to have courses that I can take. Two examples are The Art Institute of New York City and the New York School of Interior Design. I would have to attend the schools for two to four years.

        Interior designers meet with a client and decorate an area or room according to the client’s likes and dislikes. The designer has to find the proper color schemes and the right furniture to make the area look comfortable. Qualities that the designer should have are being able to read blue prints, using the information about the client’s likes and dislikes to create a room suitable, time management, and dealing with cost estimations well. I thought it was very interesting that not only do interior designers decorate houses, but also they can decorate boats, such as yachts, offices, and hospitals. The area in which an interior designer works can be inside in a comfortable workspace and/or they could be traveling to different people’s houses.

        What I think are the reasons that I apply for this job are I have always had the passion to design and I am nearly positive that I would like to pursue this job as my career choice, I love to play with different colors, fabrics, and textures, and I have had some experience with decorating my room. I think what I can do now to help me in the future is focus in school, learn more about the job and the language of interior designing and decorating, and practice.

What I want to be when I grow up. :]

When I grow up, I either want to be a detective, marine biologist or an animal rescuer.
    I'd like to be a detective because I would love to solver mysteries and go through all the clues to find the killer, but I guess that's all just stuff from television. From the research I've done on being a detective so far, it looks like a pretty complicated job, and a scary one too. The show that convinced me into wanting to be a detective is Law and Order, it's one of my favorites because it's very interesting in how they solve the murders and find out who's the killer.
    I'd like to be a marine biologist because I love underwater creatures, basically I just love the underwater world. Even though I'm highly afraid of sharks and many other sea creatures, I'd love to explore the oceans and learn new things about the animals/creatures in them. My favorite animal underwater, I'd have to say would be a Sea Horse, because they seem so rare and different. I also want to discover new things to come, that haven't been discovered underwater yet.
    I'd like to become an animal rescuer because I adore animals, and I hate how they are abused. When animals are hurt or dying I feel the need to help them. I would never just let an animal lay there dying in front of me. I would have to take it and bring it to the veterinarian. I wouldn't really want to be the doctor and go through their bodies and stuff because it would bother me way to much, sometimes the sight or smell of blood makes me nauseous. That's also the problem with my becoming a detective because theres a lot of blood involved in that too.
    Out of all these jobs, I would want to be the detective the most. I wouldn't want to be the marine biologist because of the weird, freaky, scary creatures. I wouldn't want to be a animal rescuer because I would burst into tears if an animal died and I couldn't save it.
    So I guess I'm just a detective kind of girl. :)

What's my Career?

1. Explain what Jessica Hagy means with this graphic?

Answer: In this graphic, Jessica Hagey means that when you think you have a career in your head, that might suit you when you grow up, you always need to plan, and work! Think about, where you are now, such as what you're good at, what you struggle on, and another important one is, what your interests are. I certainly wouldn't want to have a job that I'm not good at, or that doesn't interest me at all. Once you get passed the stage, of actually figuring out what you're all about now, you need to think about where you want to be, in the future. A main thing that you need to think about, is WORK, WORK, WORK! People don't get very far, if they just slouch around, and don't put any thought or interest into your work and ideas. Jessica Hagey's graphic is basically telling you, to think everything out, and once you do that, you need to be ready to plan and work! It will pay off!

2. Make a personal connection: Where do YOU want to be (career)

Answer: To have a career, you need to be knowledge about yourself, know your interests and your talents. For my career, I would probably want a job that would have to do with design and colors, and just planning out my own work and being able to make it my own. One job that I think would be interesting to me, and that I have been thinking about for a while, is interior designing, like the insides houses. I watch a lot of those shows that re-do peoples houses, and design what is going in the inside of the house, like those shows on HGTV.  This is a job that I think would be great for me, and when I wake  up in the morning, I will actually look forward to going to work ,and I will have fun doing work.

3. What kind of work will it take to get there?

Answer: I have a pretty good feeling, that it will take a good amount of work if I want to be good, and maybe a professional at my future job. I do see a lot of people on the shows that I watch, and they do seem very educated on what they do, and I'm pretty sure that they worked a whole lot ot get where they are now. I do know that I do have to work hard, and it won't be easy, but it will definitely pay off in the end, when I can do something that I enjoy everyday!

4. What is the work like once you are there?

Answer: Once I am there, research says that the work itself won't be too hard, but you need to have the skills and talents to get where you want to go. It involves a lot of practicing with art, colors and designs. Some architecture will be involved, depending on what type of interior designing you want to be a part of. Through out your whole experience of training to be an interior, you will need to take many courses for many different subjects. Such as design, art, architecture, and placing (such as where things should go.)
