In the story, My Antonia, there is two friends named Jim Burden and Antonia Shimerda. They are neighbors and the Burdens have a farm. After MR. Shimerda dies, Antonia goes to work on the Burdens farm.While Antonia works on the farm, they form a long lasting bond.
In the story, Once Around Manhattan, Gina and Soo-Hyung are the only girls in the challenge club.They are good friends and have to stick together on this adventure. They want to prove that girls can do anything boys can do(even though they can't). They want to show that they have the will and endurance to tackle this feat.
Between these two groups of friends, they both have a good relationship and the both are very close. But they rely on each other for different reasons. Antonia and jim rely on each other to give eachother comfort and care. Like when Antonia's dad died, she had to get a job on Jim's families farm and Jim helped her out and showed her because he knew she was going through alot.
Gina and Soo-Hyung rely on each other to give each other will and endurance.

The friendships between Antonia and Jim and the friendship between Gina and Soo-Hyung are both similar and different. They are both dependent on each other but for different reasons. Between Antonia and Jim it is for entertainment and to have a companion. Between Gina an Soo-Hyung it is in a way for survival. They are the only girls in a group of boys and in a way they have to prove themselves.
Gina and Soo-Hyung both go to the same school and are friends through the Challenge Club where as the friendship between Antonia and Jim they meet through work and the circumstances are totally different. Gina and Soo-Hyung have to work together to make it around the island of Manhattan. They work together and give their all. Jim and Antonia also have to work together. They see each other everyday and also have to work together to help the farm run smoothly.
Jim and Antonia don't have much besides each other. They are playmates, companions, and they enjoy each others company. They see each other everyday out in the planting Fields, they watch the summer heat storms together, and they enjoy each others company. The friendship between Gina and Soo-Hyung is on a completely different train. They may not be the sleepover, birthday party, play-dates on weekends kind of friends. They may not even be friends out of school like Antonia and Jim. They get along and need each other to get by in the club.
When the girls in once around Manhattan see the statue of liberty the waters start getting fierce. They think that they can not finish the lap around the island, because of the waters, and they are already so far behind the rest of the group. They end up working together and they pull each other through. They both appreciate each other. "Does she have a name? The statue of liberty lady?...". "..I'm going to have to call her Gina" said Soo-Hyung "... because she was my only hope back there." " Oh no" said Gina. "her name is Soo-Hyung steering us to the ground.
Jim and Antonia also appreciate each other but in a totally different way. "We were glad to have her in the house." "She was so gay and responsive thats one did not mind her heavy, running steps or her clattery way with pans." "Grandmother was in high spirits the week Antonia worked for us." He knew Antonia made him happy and he knew that she made the people around her like his grandmother happy. He appreciated the feeling of happiness she brought to the farm, but he didn't really depend on her for anything like getting him around an island or standing up against odds and nature.
These friends are both alike and different. They depend on other and appreciate each other but for different reasons, but all the same they are both good friends.

The friendships between Jim and Antonia and Gina and Soo-Hyung are somewhat the same and somewhat different. Antonia works for Jims family on a farm. Jim and Antonia always have to work together. They are working on a farm and they need to work together. The play together and they are really each others only friends. Gina and Soo-Hyung depend on each other to make themselves look good. They also are the only two girls in a group of boys. They go to the same school and they met through the Challenge club.
The friendships are similar because they both depend on each other. They both work together to achieve a goal. They both cant survive without each other. They need each other. They both work together, but one friendship is from school and the other is from work.

Once upon a time there was a puppy. He lived in a big house with lots of food and other puppies to play with. One day an evil cat came in to their peaceful house and started eating up all of the sweet puppies. This had a dramatic effect on our original puppy. He started growing into a dog who snarled when he got mad and had a horrible urge to bite off peoples noses. His name just happened to be K.K.
He left the big house that day forever to seek his first victim. After searching for a while he got tired and laid down. When he woke up he found himself in the pound. "Wonderful" he thought. When I get adopted I will have my victim and a nice juicy nose. Well that day came when a couple came to adopt a dog. The woman was a teacher at a middle school named Ms. Mountain. The man was a substitute teacher named Mr. BK. K.K. put on his best adopt me face.
They instantly fell in love with him. To make a long story short they took him home. Ms. Mountain was very fond of him. This turned him off and made him even more determined to bite her nose. Ms. Mountain was a very loving and caring mother. But as she grew closer to her new companion, K.K. got closer to her husband. Ms. Mountain stared to notice this and it as tearing her apart. She did not know what to do.
One lovely evening Ms. Mountain, Mr. B.K., and K.K. where siting together on the couch. Ms. Mountain was taking in the beautiful family moment. She was enjoying the moment and frankly so was K.K. He started to think twice about the whole nose thing. But as Ms. Mountain moved closer and closer to K.K. his urges started growing. They got stronger and stronger and he didn't know how much longer he could resist. He gave Ms. Mountain a warning hoping she would read the signs. He raised his lip and showed his teeth but Ms. Mountain wasn't picking up on the sign. As she got closer and closer K.K. lost control and sunk his large teeth in to her shnoz. WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?????

He only saw Dot and grabbed her. She screamed "help, help, help!!". We all stayed as quiet as we could. Kit crawled to the back of the closet and found a window. She tried to open it but before she tried the first time she looked out side and saw the Killer tying up Dot and throwing her into the tool shed. Kit turned away to tell the rest of us, and when she turned back he was gone. "I think we should stay here a little longer, and then I'll try to sneak out the window and go to the phone booth across the street, okay?" said Kit. We all nodded our heads in agreement. About 10 minutes passed by and Kit opened the window and managed to crawl out. We watched her as she went to the phone. She picked it up and called 911 she spoke to a police officer named Officer Krupkee. He said he would be over immediately.
Kit ran through the yard and crawled back into the closet but it was too late. The killer saw her and ran into the house. We had heard footsteps up and down the halls. We heard doors opening and doors being slammed shut. Then we heard the footsteps stop and a Shadow peering through the small crack on the bottom of he door. We all went to the back of the closet. "What are we gonna do guys?" said Aquamarine. "Lets all go out the window" said Kit. Kit went out first, then me, but as Aquamarine was the door flew open the killer had taken Aquamarine! We had gotten to the tool shed we went inside and Dot was gone. We ran to the police station to get police officers because Officer Krupkee never showed up. When w told them they said "we already sent officer Krupkee to check it out" I said "well he never showed up.". So girls what exactly happened at this house?" said one of the officers. " We were dared to spend a night in the crazy psycho mansion by our arch rival Jannison so we did. Then when we got there there was a man who was coming after us so we decided to call him the Killer. So we ran into the upstairs closet. The crazy killer came up and took Dot tied her up and threw her in the tool shed then Kit snuck out of the closet and went to the phone booth across the street to call you the police we spoke to Officer Krupkee and he said he was coming to check it out he never showed up, or maybe he did and the killer got o him? But anyways then the killer came to the closet and as we were sneaking g out to go to you guys. Aquamarine got taken by the crazy killer. When we got out of the closet we went to the tool shed to get Dot but she was gone so we came here to tell you this so you would come save our friends and arrest the crazy killer". "Wow that was a mouthful, well, okay we'll go check it out so, come on girls get in the car " said Officer Daniels. We got in the car with Officer Daniels and Detective Smithsonite.
We drove up to the house and Officer Daniels told us to stay in he car with Detective Smithsonite. Officer Daniels had called for backup because he saw Frank Sinatra's wife laying dead on the floor. Backup had arrived they were searching all trough the house for this guy until they went up to the attic to find a man hanging from the celling. It had turned out that the killer had killed himself.
"Alright guys take the evidence in and I'll go get the girls and Krupkee". "You got it boss" said Officer McNugget.
Officer Daniels unted Dot, Aquamarine, and Officer Krupkee. They called their buddy John who drives the local Ambulance Truck to come take the body in a body bag. So he came. Officer Daniels took us all back to the station to ask us what happened in there. After that he called our parents and they came to take us home, but as we were driving away from the station we passed the crazy psycho mansion, and saw John the ambulance driver go into the house with the dead body. Dun dun dun!!!!!!
